How to tell if you’ve been hacked

3. If you notice programs have been installed that you didn’t install.
4. If you hear from people in your email contact list that they received an email from you that you never sent.

What to do if you’ve been hacked

5. Don’t click on links in email unless you are sure who sent it and where it is taking you.
6. Cover your webcam.
7. Set up alerts on your accounts so you know if someone else tried to log in or if money is taken out of your accounts, etc.
8. Keep windows updated. Update your browsers regularly.
9. Back up your data regularly.
10. Be sure to use only one anti-virus program.
11. Run scans with Ccleaner, Malwarebytes, etc. Be sure to update them before running so that you have the latest definitions.
12. Turn off Location Services. Check your privacy settings.

14. Check your bank accounts regularly. Get free credit reports every year.
15. Go into Control Panel, Programs and look for programs you no longer use or need or ones that you didn’t install. Uninstall them.
